EARTHQUAKEKeep calm Do not run or panic Stay where you are. Most injuries occur as people are entering or leaving buildings Take cover in an interior doorway or under a strong desk/table Stay away from glass, windows and outside doors DO NOT use matches or any open flames during or after a tremor Be prepared for earthquake aftershocks (smaller tremors that follow the main shock) When the earthquake appears to be over, check for injuries. DO NOT move seriously injured persons unless they are in danger of further injury Report any injuries to Department Managers: Check gas, water and other utility lines for damage Have Building Maintenance turn off any damaged utilities: Report any damage to utility companies if possible: Stay off telephone except to report an emergency DO NOT run through or near buildings Await evacuation instructions from person in charge If no evacuation instructions, then proceed to evacuate using interior stairways. NOTE: WATCH FOR FALLING DEBRIS. THE GREATEST DANGER FROM FALLING DEBRIS IS JUST OUTSIDE DOORWAYS AND CLOSE TO OUTER WALLS If possible, go to assembly area to receive further instructions from the Business Recovery Team (assembly location:) |
