Cultural Programs, Charities and Scholarships
Activities include an Italian Christmas Festa, an Annual Meeting, Dinner Dances, Italian Open Golf Tournament, Pizza Booth Fundraiser at the Orange International Street Fair; Columbus Day Civic Program Luncheon, an Annual Heritage Award Banquet and family picnic. Educational exhibits are on display at our Italian Cultural Center including a video and book library of Italian subjects. Periodically we show classic Italian films at the Italian Cultural Center and at the Bowers Museum of Cultural Arts in Santa Ana. Special community cultural programs are provided through our Foundation by the Italian governments’ local office of Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Los Angeles. We support the Birth Defects Library at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in Orange and the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art in Santa Ana where an Italian Endowment Fund for exhibits has been established. We support the Italian language programs of El Modena High School and the Orange County Performing Arts High School. Scholarships for High School and College students are available through the California State University Long Beach, the Western Foundation of the Grand Lodge of California, Order Sons of Italy and the Order Sons of Italy Renaissance Lodge and Foundation.
